here's who i am and what i like to do

a small story about me

I enjoy working in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment where I have exposure to a plethora of industries in which I established, yet constantly growing knowledge and critical thinking ability to solve problems.

I’ve spent most of my life (which is roughly around 18000 hours) under the training of an extraordinary businessman, my Dad, and so I quickly became engrossed with the idea of running my own business and helping others grow their own little thing. Let me be clear though, it wasn’t the money making and profit that made me enamoured to this paradigm, but it was the risk, the challenges and the adrenaline rush that came with it.

As a somewhat atypical child - emigrating to Taiwan from rural India at the age of 4 - I tried to be the person I felt I should be so I'd blend in with those around me but it simply did not feel right. I quickly learnt how to build strong relationships with people that were not my own and along with that came learning the local language, embracing and embodying the new culture and eventually making Taiwan my home, the place where I now feel like I belong.

Going to an international school in a foreign country provided me with the background to be an excellent communicator, open minded and highly adaptive and best of all I got the opportunity to understand and experience hundreds of different cultures.

Growing up in the digital age, it wasn’t uncommon for my generation to become interested in the online world; it was only a matter of time until I began to spend hours on the computer improving my skills - one day was spent mastering Excel while the next was spent learning how to program.

It was amazing for me to have had access to so much information and literal knowledge at my fingertips and I am glad to have taken the most out of it.

Soon after, my interests shifted from software developing into the realm of business and finance - it was the daily dinner-table talks I had with my dad about the ups and downs of his own little enterprise that attracted me into this beautiful roller-coaster that is the strategy-business world.

Nowadays, I am in my final semester at the University of Victoria studying Economics (with Finance Specialization) and Computer Science through which I hope to gain interdisciplinary knowledge that I can then use to expose myself to a variety of work early in my career and help solve complex business challenges. Along with the numerous boring hours of studying I do on a day to day basis, I participate in a variety of different clubs such as University of Victoria's Consulting Group and aim to build good dedicated relationships with professionals.
